EPIC THOUGHTS, 7:23 AM

Commuting,
      March 18, 1994.
          After winter of
   heavy snows, come
spring floods--three days
         rain, and the Sudbury
River rises.

Thinking, as I scoot across
Rt. 27 causeway, menacing waters separated
         by thinnest thread of battered
  pavement, that this
is Passover,
and I am the yuppie Moses,
dividing the river with my new
                    green Caravan, but where
are my Jews?
