IT'S NOT THE DARKNESS Draw the earth up over my head,
draw the curtains tight,
dream beneath your shroud of dread,
let's float toward a golden light.
It's not the darkness you must fear,
nor the dread that glows blue black,
it's the music that you fail to hear,
life viewed through a narrow crack.
I'll lay quietly here an eon or so,
time to rest, to decompose.
The great loss is what we never know,
truths beyond poetry or prose.
