IT WAS ONLY VACATION

Hot on the trail of history
                   at places like Gettysburg and
            Harper's Ferry,
     we fought pitched battles on difficult ground.

              Valley Forge or Virginia Beach ?
             Monticello or Mini-Golf ?

Pickett's Charge slowed to a crawl
                         as our battle hurtled through
            the American night, on monotonous miles
    of a bloodied Interstate.
