ON THE ROW
The woods lined my imagination.
Hansel and Gretel,
where are you?
The unmown field balanced a crimson sky.
I saw the blue pencil line of a river
in the distance.
The marsh was wild, so frightening.
It drew me to its edge.
I saw the turtle that had tried to
cross the road. Fascinated,
I stared and stared.
Water Row transported me.
I had only planned
on Lincoln Road.
